ReCAST Training Opportunity
Culturally Responsive Supervision
This training is for Supervisors.
As our country exploded with a dual health and race pandemic, how were staff with various positional power within your organization supported to navigate a turbulent context? What are the expectations for employee performance and deliverables when one is dealing with personal, systemic, or societal trauma? In this session, we will discuss brain science on how the presence of the stress hormone cortisol- impacts one's cognitive functioning ability. We will then unpack supervision strategies to see a trauma shape impacting a staff member, name it with compassion versus pathology, and develop a plan for support and performance.
Session Objectives:
- Discuss how de-centering DOMINANT CULTURE can make room for new gifts and strengths to emerge
- Work to DISMANTLE beliefs about high-performing vs low-performing employees
- Learn from the Be the Change Supervision for Equitable Employee Development FRAMEWORK
- Make a plan to INTEGRATE culturally responsive techniques into our supervision.

Quarterly Progress Report Due Dates
Summer programs' progress reports are due October 15 each program year. Summer 2023 progress reports will be due on October 15, 2023. This will be their first and last progress report since they only operate in the summer months.
All other OFCY programs will complete and submit four quarterly progress reports, which are due fifteen (15) calendar days after the conclusion of the quarter's end. The due dates for FY23-24 are as follows:
Q1: October 15, 2023
Q2: January 15, 2024
Q3: April 15, 2024 (includes Match Funding Report)
Q4: July 15, 2024
Attendance for each quarter will be locked at 5pm on the dates above. Please enter your service data on a regular basis.

Trauma Informed Trainings Available
OFCY in partnership with Oakland ReCAST and Be the Change, is excited to offer a series of trauma-informed trainings to our grantee community! Our goal is to increase and or enhance your ability to provide, coordinate and/or collaborate with each other, in the provision of trauma informed and culturally relevant services and activities for children, youth, and families.

Release of Information for all Participants
Each OFCY-funded program is responsible for obtaining a signed Release of Information form
from participants (or from their parent or guardian if they are a minor) to input their personal
information and participation data into the Cityspan GMS and to participate in OFCY evaluation.
Visit the Resources tab in Cityspan GMS or visit the OFCY website to find the consent forms in English, Spanish and Chinese, Administrative Protocol, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
